President’s Message:
Fall is in the air….finally. Hunt test
season is winding down and hunting season is upon us.
It was great to
see everybody at the hunt tests this fall. I hope everybody enjoyed
them as much as I did. Plenty of good times and good friends to go
around for sure. Congratulations to everybody that earned titles this
Fall. If you earned a title, please let us know so we can post it on the
website. Send pictures if you’ve got any as well.
Our shotgun raffle
was a huge success. We profited approximately $4,400 which we will use to
upgrade our hunt test equipment. Gunners Up wingers and holding
blinds/winger hides top the list of items we are going to acquire along
with a few other small items. Those who helped out by purchasing and/or
selling tickets need to give yourself a pat on the back for a job well
done. Nice work.
I hope everybody
takes the time to get out and enjoy hunting season with their favorite
4-legged friends. Remember that HRC was founded “for hunters, by
hunters”. That’s why we do this stuff, to promote the quality of hunting
retrievers and have more enjoyable hunting partners. It’s time for all of
that hard work and training to pay off. So get out there and have a good
time. Your dog will thank for it.
Don’t forget to
send in pictures of your hunts as well (please keep them tasteful). We
will post them on the website for everybody to enjoy.

The club single
membership price is $25 and the family membership is $30. Please fill out a new membership application

Just a reminder, while out hunting take a camera to capture pictures of
your decoy spreads and dogs in the field.
Please let me know if your dog(s)
get titles or other awards so I can update the Recognitions Page with
their accomplishments.
We are always looking for pictures to be submitted for Picture of the
Month, pictures of your dog for the Portrait Page and pictures from hunt
tests or hunts, and even training days. Please send them to
bacade@tx.rr.com. Also
include a note as to what the picture is of, who is in the picture and
who took the
picture. If you do not have a digital picture, you can send me a
print and I will scan it. Let me know if you want the
picture back. The address to send them to is:

Training Days
Training grounds in Wylie are available for members to use.
Please remember to lock the gate after you enter and when you leave.
Please do not to drive to the back when the road is wet.
Training days are normally on Saturday mornings starting around 8:00 AM.
Watch your e-mail for notification of members going out to train.
