President’s Message:
Hunting season is now over and the spring hunt test season is here. It’s time to start training to get ready for hunt tests. There are several tests in our region this Spring and I encourage everybody to get out and help support the other HRC clubs.

Our first training day of the year was a success. Many people attended and helped each other out. The weather was great and it was nice to see so many people come out. John Wallace did a great job setting this up. There are sure to be more training days coming up this Spring. We will be letting everybody know when/where the next one will be so keep watching for announcements.

Please mark your calendars as our own hunt test is fast approaching March 21-22. The test will again be in Bowie as it has been the past few years. Kyle Krause has been working very hard as Hunt Test Chairman getting things organized and ready for our test. Also Becky Hansen has once again taken on the task of Hunt Test Secretary.

Kevin and Dana Buckley have taken on the position of raffle chair and are doing a fine job obtaining sponsors/donors for our test. We will be posting all of our sponsors on the club website. Check it out soon to see all of our great hunt test sponsors.

Our premium has been posted on our website. Entries for the Hunt Test can also be made at www.huntsecretary.com . If you are intending to enter, if at all possible, please try not to wait until the last minute so we can prepare for the proper amount of participants.

Our past hunt tests have been very successful due to the high number of generous club members that have taken the time to help out. This year appears to be no different. Several people have already volunteered to help out at the hunt test and we very much appreciate that. We can still use some more help, however. We still need marshals for several flights and a started gunner as well as people to help set-up, tear down and serve food along with many other miscellaneous tasks. It’s usually more fun, than work. If you wish to help, please let Kyle or myself know. Dinner will be provided Friday evening for anybody that helps set up on Friday afternoon.

Don’t forget our next meeting will be Thursday February 19^th at Spring Creek BBQ (SWC Preston and 635) at 7:00 pm.

Just a reminder, while out hunting take a camera to capture pictures of your decoy spreads and dogs in the field.

Please let me know if your dog(s) get titles or other awards so I can update the Recognitions Page with their accomplishments.

We are always looking for pictures to be submitted for Picture of the Month, pictures of your dog for the Portrait Page and pictures from hunt tests or hunts, and even training days. Please send them to bacade@tx.rr.com. Also include a note as to what the picture is of, who is in the picture and who took the picture. If you do not have a digital picture, you can send me a print and I will scan it. Let me know if you want the picture back. The address to send them to is:

Training Days

Training grounds in Wylie are available for members to use. Please remember to lock the gate after you enter and when you leave. Please do not to drive to the back when the road is wet. Training days are normally on Saturday mornings starting around 8:00 AM. Watch your e-mail for notification of members going out to train.
