 Fetch!

The Monthly Newsletter of the Lone Star Hunting Retriever Club

President’s Message:
Happy New Year and I hope your holidays went well.  It has been two years since I last wrote a Fetch.  I would like to start off this new term as President of Lone Star by saying Thanks  to the past Lone Star Board, for everything the four of them have done over the past two years.  Seth, Bobby, Sarah and Carl thanks for all your hard work keeping the club’s activities fun and informative for us all.

Lone Star had our Christmas Party last month.  I would like to take a moment and thank Dana Buckley & Meghan Miller for planning the party at Café Amore.  This was the first time in many years that the club had the party at a restaurant.  The turnout was great and everyone had a Wonderful time.

Duck season is in full force.  This year we have had unusually cold weather during duck season.  It has been a good year for us duck hunters with plenty of water and plenty of ducks in Texas.

The Club Meeting will be held at Spring Creek BBQ on Thursday January 21st.  At this meeting we will be talking about Lone Star’s hunt test that will be held on March 20th & 21st at the “Fish Camp” in Royse City, TX.  The location of the test is about 30 minutes from Dallas in hopes that club members that are working or running dogs have the option to stay at home if they like.  The “Fish Camp” is a restaurant that is on the grounds of the test.  This will be nice as participants will be able to have an assortment of food choices to choose from for Lunch on Saturday and Sunday.  There are still plenty of positions to be filled.  Please remember to let me know if there is anything you would like to do at the Hunt Test.  We will not turn anyone away that wants to help.  Kevin Buckley is heading up our Raffle this year so if there is anything you have or have any ideas I know he would like to hear them.  Contact Kevin at topdog@tx.rr.com

See you at the line,

Kyle

Just a reminder, while out hunting take a camera to capture pictures of your decoy spreads and dogs in the field.

Please let me know if your dog(s) get titles or other awards so I can update the Recognitions Page with their accomplishments.

We are always looking for pictures to be submitted for Picture of the Month, pictures of your dog for the Portrait Page and pictures from hunt tests or hunts, and even training days.  Please send them to  bacade@tx.rr.com.  Also include a note as to what the picture is of, who is in the picture and who took the picture.  If you do not have a digital picture, you can send me a print and I will scan it.  Let me know if you want the picture back.  The address to send them to is:
