President’s Message:
As most of you know, Lone Star HRC is
gearing up for our hunt test being held at the “Fish Camp” in Royse City,
TX on March 20th & 21st. The test this year will
consist of: 1 flight of Started with 50 dogs; 1 flight of Seasoned with
30 dogs; and 2 flights of Finished with 25 dogs per flight - each day. I
have Marshal’s for every flight and some volunteers, but we can always use
more help. This year we are using the “Fish Camp” for all of the food.
This is a big change for the club as we will not need anyone to prepare
food, but will need help serving at the tailgate party.
As in past years
we will be having a Youth Hunt on Saturday afternoon. Rick Wojciechowski
and Jay Patton will be running this event. Any child under the age of 15
will be able to run a dog of any caliber. The price for the Youth hunt is
$10.00. There will be 2 single marks with a gunner to shoot both marks.
No youth will handle the gun. There will be ribbons awarded at the
tailgate party. Bring your son or daughter to run a dog.
Last year Kevin
Buckley headed up the raffle, but since we had to cancel our test some of
the donations had to be sent back. Kevin has been working very hard again
this year on the raffle and it looks like we are going to have another
great one. Here are some of the products that will be in the raffle this
year: a Gunners Up Winger, a dog ramp, knives, wall prints, ATV winch,
duck calls, and many, many other items. This year we also have 2 silent
auction items:
1) Fishing for the day on a private lake with Ray Sims
2) A 2-person duck hunt on a private lease with Lone Star’s defending duck
calling champion, Dale Flenthrope.
I know Kevin will be more than happy if you have something you would like
to donate. You may call him at 214-236-2645 with your donations.
If you are going
to run a dog and have not sent your entries in, please send them to Becky

www.huntsecretary.com Hunt Secretary will be closing on 3-12-10, but
you can still enter after that date if we still have spaces open. Let’s
all rest up for the hunt test, train your dogs, and get ready for a great

Secretary’s Notes:
Hey everyone! I
don’t have a lot to say this month, but that I look forward to seeing you
at the hunt test and the club meeting. We are still looking for new
pictures for the website of your dogs. Also we would like some candid
pictures of you and your dog at other hunt tests or training days. Please
e-mail them to Bruce Cade. Please don’t forget that we do have a very
important meeting regarding our hunt test. The meeting will be held on
MONDAY, March 15, 2010 at Spring Creek BBQ at 7:00pm. See you there if
not before.

Webmaster Message:
Just a reminder, while out hunting take a camera to capture pictures of
your decoy spreads and dogs in the field.
Please let me know if your dog(s)
get titles or other awards so I can update the Recognitions Page with
their accomplishments.
We are always looking for pictures to be submitted for Picture of the
Month, pictures of your dog for the Portrait Page and pictures from hunt
tests or hunts, and even training days. Please send them to
bacade@tx.rr.com. Also
include a note as to what the picture is of, who is in the picture and
who took the
picture. If you do not have a digital picture, you can send me a
print and I will scan it. Let me know if you want the

Training Days
Training grounds in Wylie are available for members to use.
Please remember to lock the gate after you enter and when you leave.
Please do not to drive to the back when the road is wet.
Training days are normally on Saturday mornings starting around 8:00 AM.
