The Monthly Newsletter of the Lone Star Hunting Retriever Club

President’s Message:
Lone Star’s last event of the summer was our Top Gun Shoot held at Elm Fork Shooting Range.  With 11 club members shooting, when the scores were tallied, Bruce Cade was the winner with the high score.  I would like to thank Dana Buckley for getting all the food prepared and ready for everyone to have a great meal.  Thanks to everyone that attended, and I hope you had a great time.

Just a reminder about some of the upcoming hunt test:

CowTown HRC September 11 & 12 in Corsicana, TX

Big D HRC September 25 & 26 in Tioga, TX

Lonesome Dove HRC October 23 & 24 in Comanche, TX

Hope to see you at one or all of these great tests.

With hunting season around the corner we will have a Game Warden at the next club meeting to talk with us about the upcoming season.  Be safe in the field and make some great memories with friends and your dog.  If you have a chance to take a young hunter with you please take some pictures and send them to Bruce for the web site.

See you at the Line.

Kyle

Secretary’s Notes:

I would like to thank everyone for such a wonderful turn out at the Top Gun Shoot.  We had a great group of people and had a wonderful time.  We are looking forward to hunt test season as well as hunting season in a month.  We have had some new members join in the past months and I would like to welcome them.  I’m sure that Bruce will have a complete list in his section for everyone to see who the newcomers are.  We are always looking for new pictures for the web page.  These pictures should be of hunting, training, and playing with the dogs.  If you have any of these please e-mail them to Bruce at: bacade@tx.rr.com.  I hope to see you at some up coming hunt tests.  Please don’t forget about the club meeting on September 16, 2010 at 7:00pm at Spring Creek BBQ on Preston and 635!

See you at the meeting if not before,

Sarah

Please let me know if your dog(s) get titles or other awards so I can update the Recognitions Page with their accomplishments.

We are always looking for pictures to be submitted for Picture of the Month, pictures of your dog for the Portrait Page and pictures from hunt tests or hunts, and even training days.  Please send them to  bacade@tx.rr.com.  Also include a note as to what the picture is of, who is in the picture and who took the picture.  If you do not have a digital picture, you can send me a print and I will scan it.  Let me know if you want the picture back.  The address to send them to is:
