President’s Message:

With me being at all the hunt tests in the region and trying to get prepared for hunting season, I have let time slip by.

There were several club members out at the Cowtown and Big D hunt tests.  I would like to take a minute to give a big congratulations to several members and their dogs:  Dave and Patti Benton and their dog “Emma” for earning their HRCH at Big D’s test;  Carl Petrey got his first Seasoned Pass on his Dog “Rocky”;  Dave Gannon earned his HRCH on his dog “Bossman” and “Tate” got his SHR.  Congratulations to them all.  If anyone else has earned a title(s) please let us know.

October 16th we had a club training day in Wylie with a great turnout.  Several new members brought their dogs out to see what the club is all about.  It was a lot of fun working on challenging the dogs to run through the cover.  At future training days we will be working on what each dog needs - whether that is working on steadying the dog or bringing the birds back, that is what we will do.  We want to make sure everyone that attends gets something out of the event.  Since we are getting into duck season and the weather is cooling off, we might have some of the training days in the afternoon so you can go hunting in the morning and train in the afternoon.

With duck season opening at the end of the month a lot of the club members are gearing up and getting ready.  Texas Parks and Wildlife is hosting a youth duck hunt that a few club members are helping out with.  In the next Fetch there will be a short note on how that went.  Please get us some pictures of you and your dog in the field hunting this season so we can put them on the website.  Be safe and have a lot of fun with friends duck hunting this year.

See you at the Line.

Kyle

We are always looking for pictures to be submitted for Picture of the Month, pictures of your dog for the Portrait Page and pictures from hunt tests or hunts, and even training days.  Please send them to  bacade@tx.rr.com.  Also include a note as to what the picture is of, who is in the picture and who took the picture.  If you do not have a digital picture, you can send me a print and I will scan it.  Let me know if you want the picture back.  The address to send them to is:
