President’s Message: I would like to start off this Fetch by saying to all the Lone Star HRC Club members that headed out to Point, TX for Lone Star’s 25th Anniversary Hunt Test - Thank You! This year was far different from last year. No one was bundled up in layers of clothes or soaking wet from rain and snow. The weather was great and we could not have asked for a better weekend to hold our test. But anything would have been better than last year. I would like to thank Cathy Cade for being our hunt secretary this year. The programs and all the paperwork did not show up on Friday, so Cathy and Bruce had to get all the point recipes, judges’ sheets and forms made before heading out to the test. That was a lot of work that they got done in just a few hours. Thanks to Kevin and Dana Buckley for working hard on the raffle. Looks like we made $1,400. Bruce will have the total break down of the test after everything has been tallied. I would also like to thank Duke Robertson, Greg Perkins, Bill Mullican, Ben Bain, Manley Reynolds, Collin Brown, Mark Miller, Dale Gidley, Ray Simms, Dale Flenthrope, Bobby Geckler, and Mike Brackin for being our Site Marshals. Sarah Krause, Stacy Geckler and Bruce Cade made all of the lunches for both days and the tailgate dinner on Saturday night. They did a great job keeping all of us fed, and we thank you for that. The one job that gets over looked is the Game Steward. John Wallace has done that job for a long time. John gets to the test site way before everyone else does so the birds are ready when the judges arrive. Thanks to everyone that made our 25th Anniversary test one to remember. I have enjoyed being the Hunt Test Chairman for the past eight years now. It has been an amazing experience, but it's time for someone else to take over. Thank you to Lone Star for allowing me to Chair the hunt testss. With all of that being said, I have the great pleasure in letting everyone know that Kevin Buckley has agreed to be the Hunt Test Chairman for our 2012 test. Here are some notes that I would like to share with the club: “I had a good time judging and running my dog. Thanks for the great judges dinner, motel expense, travel expense money, and free dog run. Congratulations to Lone Star for its 25 years of success and I wish you many more. It is successful because of dedicated members like you!” Glenda Mitchell “I enjoyed the weekend. On another note, this is the last year for the slate of Lone Star HRC officers.
